Born and raised in France and based in Los Angeles, Sophie Maarek is an artist working primarily in clay. Her sculptural practice explores the space where art and function meet, creating hand-built lamps, vessels, side tables, and collectible objects inspired by the quiet intelligence of the natural world.

Originally trained in fashion design and self-taught in ceramics, Maarek embraces a slow, intuitive process that preserves the traces of the human hand. Perfection belongs only to nature. Guided by this philosophy, she celebrates subtle irregularities that give each piece its own presence and character, inviting a slower way of looking and living.
